“Round the Rocks”

An off road cycle or hike or run over the spectacular landscape of Rocklands Stn and The Burgan run
A new location, with new trails and more options!
A charity fundraiser by Taieri Rotary Club
Two options each for Runners, Hikers, and Mountain Bikers
Runners
Short - 12km Run, with 270m total climb
Long - 24km Run, with 500m total climb
Mountain Bikers
“Cruisies” - 24km Off Road Cycle, with 500m climbing. A real adventure ride for those who enjoy a bit more than a standard tourist or commuter trail.
(But not as challenging as our previous “Round the Mountain” events).“Tuffies” - 42km Off Road Cycle, with 1100m climbing. Climb the face of the Rock & Pillar Range, and return via the Old Dunstan Road and Rocklands Stn.
Hikers
Contour - 12km hike around the base of the Rock & Pillar Range, including fording the Sutton Stream.
Only 270 metres of altitude gain in total.Climb - Hike up the face of the Rock & Pillars for spectacular views of the Strath Taieri, and return.
All events start and finish at the same location

BBQ Lunch to finish
Be sure to bring some cash, (and some cold ones in a chilly bin) so you can take the time to grab a delicious meat patty BBQ bun and other great snacks selection when you finish, put on by Taieri Rotary Club
You are sure to be hungry, and what better way finish the event than to share stories over a bun and a cold drink
Getting There
The Burgan Run, where this event is located, is 30 minutes (42km) from Outram, on the road to Middlemarch.

The ride is scheduled to start at 9.30am. You should plan to be at the road turnoff before 8.45am to allow time to drive the farm road to the woolshed and be ready for event briefing at 9.20am
Funds Raised
All funds raised will be applied as a community contribution to the planned Mosgiel to Taieri cycle and walking trail
