Over 18 historic homes and buildings from the earliest days of the settlement

Included some grand homes with their historic fittings

And other early buildings

And homes

Churches with their fabulous stained glass windows

Knox and Selwyn Colleges

Sit and listen to the magnificence of the pipe organ in the Knox College Chapel

Sit and in the dining hall at Selwyn College and soak up the ambiance

The Long Room in the University Oval grandstand

And visit a number of other historic homes and buildings

A total of 20 sites for you to visit on a self drive tour

Charities supported

  • 50% to the Southern Heritage Trust, who do such grand work to protect examples of our early heritage (including a number of the homes and buildings we will be visiting on this tour).

  • 40% to youth literacy projects for pre-school and new entrants on the Taieri

  • 10% to The Rotary Club of Taieri Charitable Trust to support other projects in the community

Where to meet - The Valley Project, 262 North Rd, NE Valley
You should plan on being at the Valley Project headquarters from 10.15am onwards to exchange your emailed voucher, or physical ticket, for a wrist band to provide access to all locations, along with a location map, and pen portrait booklet outlining a brief history of each home.

Devonshire Tea Your ticket will include a complementary Devonshire Tea hosted by NE Valley Primary School and The Valley Project.

No Kids, sorry. Some of our hosts are not comfortable with the thought of children potentially touching valuable items.

Refunds If your situation changes and you can no longer participate, a full refund is available up until 25th Sept. Just email us at contact@trtoursnz.org with your e-voucher or ticket number.
There will also be a refund option if we have to postpone to a later date due to re-emergence of Covid Alert level, or some other unforeseen event.

Instructions Expect to receive an email from us with more details a few days before the event.
